TCNZ Presents: The Cases – Volume I

Just in time for Christmas TCNZ Presents: The Cases – Volume I; our first book. This book is a compilation of the first dozen cases of the podcast series.

This exists for three main reasons:

  1. We thought it would be a nice way to archive these stories in a nice and tidy way.
  2. We understand podcasts are not for everyone, sometimes reading is the preferred option.
  3. It has been a dream of mine to write a book. In our own way; we did it.

While the book consists of mostly transcripts of episodes of the podcast (which you may have already heard), there is original content.

Firstly, the scripts have been altered to make sense in the context of a book. This took multiple people months of editing and proof reading to get this right.

Secondly, there is an introduction written by my lovely wife and narrator of TCNZ — Jessica; which is heartfelt and beautiful. Who also was the person who edited this whole book for me, and supported me through all the hard times.

And finally, there is The History of True Crime New Zealand chapter that details some of the behind the scenes drama during the early days of TCNZ, and why the podcast is so important to me.

The book is available to download for free from either clicking the link above, or here. Please share it with anyone you think may be interested. You can just email them the file!

If you are reading on your phone or tablet, the PDF can be opened in any ‘book app’ like ‘iBooks’ and will work perfectly; with chapters and bookmarks to help with navigation.

I hope you get something out of this, it was a lot of work to put together. I don’t do any of this for money. I like learning, and I like sharing what I’ve learnt. It is my hope that one day, you will hear about a crime and think to yourself “I wonder if True Crime NZ has done a story on that”.
